On what date a request by Patrick Lynch, detained at Her Majesty's Prison Parkhurst, to be repatriated to the Republic of Ireland, was referred to the Republic; what response he has received.
Answer

Mr. Madden: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department on what date a request by Patrick Lynch, detained at Her Majesty's prison Parkhurst, to be repatriated to the Republic of Ireland, was referred to the Republic; what response he has received; and if he will make a statement. [19016] Miss Widdecombe: The request submitted by Mr. Lynch for repatriation to the Republic of Ireland was referred to the Irish authorities on 20 January 1997. The Irish authorities acknowledged receipt of the documentation by letter dated 28 January 1997. No further communications have been received in this case.
