Question: What was the total cost of salaries since 1992 paid to persons in his Department employed on a part-time or full-time basis in any capacity relating to the Scott Inquiry. - (Holding answer 6 February 1997).

Answer: Mr. Cook: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what was the total cost of salaries since 1992 paid to persons in his Department employed on a part-time or full-time basis in any capacity relating to the Scott inquiry. [14526] Mr. Howard: [holding answer 6 February 1997]: No officials in my Department are, or have been, wholly employed on matters relating to the Scott inquiry. Some officials have been involved on an occasional basis as part of their normal duties, but the direct salary cost is unquantifiable.
