Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment, what progress has been made by the Sustainable Development Education Panel in identifying environmental key skills. - Includes fact that copies in Library as DEP 98/1517.

Answer: Mr. Michael J. Foster: To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment what progress has been made by the Sustainable Development Education Panel in identifying environmental key skills. [63443] Mr. Charles Clarke: Earlier this year the Panel made two submissions to the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority identifying sustainable development skills at each of the key stages. The sustainable charity Forum For The Future is publishing position papers on the Panel's behalf, identifying sustainable development curriculums in higher education for design, business and teacher education. I have placed copies of these document in the Library of the House. Later this month the Panel will make its first annual report to the Government. I will deposit this in the Library of the House when it is published.
