Mr. Don Foster: To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment if he will list the initial teacher training course providers that have (a) added courses and (b) increased the number of places on offer on existing courses in each subject; and if he will list for each of (a) and (b) the number of places added for the funding years 1997-98 and 1998-99. [59199] Mr. Charles Clarke: The Teacher Training Agency's allocations of additional initial teacher training places for individual providers in 1997-98 and 1998-99 are set out in the table; those for new courses are asterisked. The 1997 allocation also awarded some places in 1998-99 and these have been included in the 1998-99 column.
