Mr. Chope: To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on the progress of the Archer Communications project. [55894] Mr. Spellar: Archer Communications System Ltd. are the MOD Prime Contractor for Project Bowman, which will provide a modern combat net radio for all three Services. Archer announced on 5 October the decision to select Racal/Thomson as their preferred supplier for the Local Area Sub-system. This decision marks a major step towards delivery of the Bowman system.
