Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Wales, what steps are being taken to protect staff against violence in health care premises in Wales; and what steps are being taken to make occupational health services available to staff in primary care in Wales.

Answer: Ms Julie Morgan: To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what steps are being taken to protect staff against violence in health care premises in Wales; and what steps are being taken to make occupational health services available to staff in primary care in Wales. [51586] Mr. Win Griffiths: Tackling violence is one of the main human resource management priorities for the NHS and research is currently being undertaken to identify good practice examples of ways in which violence against staff working in the community can be reduced. This will form the basis of guidance to be issued shortly. Occupational health in primary care is a matter for general practitioners but some health authorities are exploring ways of setting up a service on a local basis.
