Answer: Mr. Flynn: To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will ensure that inducements may not be offered to surgeons in order to encourage them to use specific hip replacement prostheses. [42063] Mr. Boateng: Guidance on standards of business conduct for National Health Service staff is set out in circular HSG(93)5, copies of which are available in the Library. NHS trusts are responsible for ensuring that staff are aware of their responsibilities in this area.
