Question: To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, what plans the Government has to use the provision under the EU Rural Development Regulations to introduce cross-compliance, where direct payments in support of agricultural production are conditional on the carrying out of measures to protect wildlife, in cases where cross-compliance may have a detrimental effect on competitiveness. - Ref to 347 c252W.
