- To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment, what amount of money has been set aside within the Employment Service budget in the current year to provide for childcare for Employment Service staff; if he will make a statement about the effects of the family-friendly policies within the Employment Service listed by his Department in a booklet published in February (a) nationally, (b) regionally and (c) in East London; how many members of Employment Service staff are currently on term-time working initiatives; how many play schemes have been set up for Employment Service staff in the last 12 months. - Inc figs, text of letter from Leigh Lewis of Employment Service and ref to "Childcare Provision and Family Friendly Policy, A Statement to Staff in DfEE and ES from the Secretary of State, the DfEE Board and the EC Chief Executive (in Library Dep 99/564).
