- To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what the compensation scheme is for civilians who are (a) killed, (b) injured and (c) maimed by unexploded munitions on military training grounds. - Where there is a legal liability to pay compensation we do so.

Mr. Simon Thomas: To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what the compensation scheme is for civilians who are (a) killed, (b) injured and (c) maimed by unexploded munitions on military training grounds. [23132] Mr. Ingram: When compensation claims are submitted, they are considered on the basis of whether or not the Ministry of Defence has a legal liability to pay compensation. Where there is a legal liability to pay compensation we do so.
