To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, pursuant to his Answer of 16th July 2001 at 372 c22W, on public service delivery, how he has identified that targeted efficiency improvements cover more than half of non-transfers spending. - Assessment was made on the basis of Depts performance against their efficiency targets, published in the spring 2001 departmental reports.

Matthew Taylor: To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, pursuant to his answer of 16 July 2001, Official Report, column 22W, on public service delivery, how he has identified that targeted efficiency improvements cover more than half of non-transfers spending.
