Answer

Mr. Luff: To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if civilians and other staff working at Throckmorton airfield on the disposal of carcases (a) have contact with other livestock in other locations or (b) live on a livestock farm; and if he will make a statement. [158566] Ms Quin: There have been 120 personnel involved in the disposal operation at Throckmorton during the peak of activity. Some may have stayed in bed-and-breakfast accommodation on farms, making a contribution to individual local business and to the wider rural economy in the locality. Strict decontamination routines are enforced, which apply to both vehicles and personnel entering and leaving the site.
