- To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, what representations his Department has received from scientists concerning the use of mobile phones; and what discussions he has had with ministerial colleagues on this subject.

Mr. Evans: To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what representations his Department has received from scientists concerning the use of mobile phones; and what discussions he has had with ministerial colleagues on this subject. [74529] Mr. Wills: The Department has received no formal representations from scientists on this subject. Officials of the Department are in regular contact with scientists both in the UK and overseas, and in particular with the National Radiological Protection Board. I have not discussed this subject with ministerial colleagues.
