To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, what (a) the total amount of the UK reserve in cash and real terms, (b) the annual draw on the reserve in cash and real terms and (c) the annual draw by the Scottish Office and Scotland Office in cash and real terms was in each year since 1971.
Answer

Mr. Salmond: To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what (a) the total amount of the UK reserve in cash and real terms, (b) the annual draw on the reserve in cash and real terms and (c) the annual draw by the Scottish Office and Scotland Office in cash and real terms was in each year since 1971. [151230] Mr. Andrew Smith: The Government do not publish figures for allocations from the Reserve overall as it is an administrative tool in controlling overall spending, rather than a budget in its own right. Individual allocations to the Scotland Office and the Scottish Office will be apparent from Estimates laid at the time to draw down those allocations.
