Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what discussions he has had with the Romanian authorities about the results of medical examination of Romanian soldiers who served in Bosnia-Herzogovina Peace Missions in 1994-95. - (Holding answer 22 January 2001).

Answer: Mr. Dalyell: To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what discussions he has had with the Romanian authorities about the results of medical examination of Romanian soldiers who served in Bosnia-Herzogovina Peace Missions in 1994-95. [146432] Mr. Vaz: [holding answer 22 January 2001]: NATO has established an Ad Hoc committee to share information about the possible health effects of Depleted Uranium with all contributors of troops to NATO-led peacekeeping operations in Bosnia and Kosovo. Our Embassy in Bucharest has discussed the issue with the Romanian Authorities. The Foreign Secretary has had no direct discussions with Romania.
