Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment, if additional funding will be made available to local education authorities to cover the administration costs of running ballots on the future of grammar schools; and if he will make a statement.

Answer: Mrs. Gillan: To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment if additional funding will be made available to local education authorities to cover the administration costs of running ballots on the future of grammar schools; and if he will make a statement. [73188] Ms Estelle Morris: The responsibility for administering ballots on the future admission arrangements of grammar schools will not fall to local authorities. My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State has appointed Electoral Reform (Ballot Services) Limited to act as the ballot administration company. The Department for Education and Employment will reimburse the costs incurred by the company in providing this service.
