Mrs. Calton: To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many people aged (a) 30-39, (b) 40-49, (c) 50-59 and (d) 60-69 were diagnosed with cervical cancer per 100,000 population in each year since 1986. Letter from Len Cook to Mrs. Patsy Calton, dated 8 December 2003: As National Statistician, I have been asked to reply to your recent question concerning how many people aged (a) 30-39, (b) 40-49, (c) 50-59 and (d) 60-69 were diagnosed with cervical cancer per 100,000 population each year since 1986. [141996]. The latest available figures, for people diagnosed with cervical cancer, are for 2000. The rate of registrations of newly diagnosed cases of cancer of the cervix in England for the age groups requested are given in the table below for the years 1986 to 2000.
