To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, how many road traffic accidents were caused by deer running onto the carriageway in each of the last five years; in how many incidents (a) injury and (b) death occurred; what steps he is taking to ensure that adequate fences are erected to contain the deer in areas where deer pose a significant danger to road users; and if he will make a statement. - Will write.
