Answer

Dr. Kumar: To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, what progress has been made with the Lyons Review; and if he will make a statement. [137536] Mr. Boateng: Following publication of his interim report on 9 September, Sir Michael Lyons has been assessing relocation proposals submitted by Government Departments. Departments have identified the scope for relocating 20,000 posts, but further work is needed to develop the proposals. The Chancellor and Deputy Prime Minister have extended the review to allow Sir Michael time for further discussion with Departments. His final report will be published early next year. More details are on the Lyons Review website at www.hm-treasury.gov.uk/lyonsreview
