- To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, if he will make a statement on investment in Basrah International Airport; and who is responsible for its (a) fabric and (b) reconstruction.

Mr. Djanogly: To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on investment in Basrah International airport; and who is responsible for its (a) fabric and (b) reconstruction. [134863] Mr. MacShane: UK military forces are currently responsible for operations at Basra airport, including maintenance of essential facilities. The Iraqi Ministry of Transport and the Coalition Provisional Authority are considering reconstruction and investment.
