To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, how much the Defence Logistics Organisation spent on preparations for the war in (a) Kosovo and (b) Afghanistan; and if he will make a statement. - Includes table.

Mr. Keetch: To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how much the Defence Logistics Organisation spent on preparations for the war in (a) Kosovo and (b) Afghanistan; and if he will make a statement. [122044] Mr. Ingram: The Defence Logistics Organisation (DLO) was launched in April 2000. Therefore, figures for preparations for the war in Kosovo are not available in the format requested. The figures for DLO expenditure for continuing operations in Afghanistan are as follows: _________________________________________________________________________________________________. £ million 2001-02 83 2002-031 135 _________________________________________________________________________________________________. 1 These figures reflect resource accounting principles and comprise mainly running costs. Figures for Financial Year 2002-03 are provisional pending finalisation of the Departmental Resource Accounts.
