- To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, how many fines have been levied on telecommunication companies under section 74 of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 in each year since the introduction of the scheme.

Mr. Dhanda: To ask the Secretary of State for Transport how many fines have been levied on telecommunication companies under section 74 of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 in each year since the introduction of the scheme. [119550] Mr. Jamieson: Comprehensive figures are not available at this stage. However, we have appointed consultants--Halcrow--to monitor the operation of section 74. They will be reporting to us later this summer, and copies of their report will be placed in the Libraries of the House.
