Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what the Government's policy is on reducing carbon emissions from aircraft.

Answer: Mr. Lidington: To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what the Government's policy is on reducing carbon emissions from aircraft. [90631] Mr. Jamieson: The Government's policy is to work with the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) to limit or reduce all emissions from aircraft, including carbon. This work is essentially aimed at developing cleaner technology and operating practices, and market-based measures to incentivise the sector to use them.
