Mr. Syms: To ask the Deputy Prime Minister what assessment he has made of the impact on small businesses of the requirement for electricians to have a prescribed level of insurance cover; and if he will make a statement. [202122] Phil Hope: Electricians who are members of a Part P competent person scheme are required as a condition of registration with a scheme to have at least £2 million public liability insurance. Those who are not members of a scheme do not have such a requirement placed on them.
