Answer: Mr. Bercow: To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs what the net change in the number of household customers charged for water on the basis of metering was in (a) 2001-02, (b) 2002-03 and (c) 2003-04. [191045] Mr. Morley: The following table shows the change in the number of households with a metered supply for the years (a) 2001-02, (b) 2002-03 and (c) 2003-04. The figures take account of households who have requested a metered supply, households who have been metered at the water company's initiative and new household properties that are almost all metered.
