To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, what proportion of the population increase expected under the principal projection issued by the Office of National Statistics on 18th December 2003 is due to the assumed level of net inward migration and the descendants of migrants. - A note considering the impact of assumed net migration on projected population growth is available at http://www.gad.gov.uk/Population/2002/methodology/mignote.ht m.

Mr. Lilley: To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what proportion of the population increase expected under the principal projection issued by the Office for National Statistics on 18 December 2003 is due to the assumed level of net inward migration and the descendants of migrants.
