Mr. Pike: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what recent representations his Department has received on the Christopher Alder case; and if he will make a statement. [209662] Mr. Charles Clarke: During the last three months, the Home Office has received representations in the form of correspondence on three matters. The first was from the Clerk to Humberside Police Authority regarding the ill health retirement of officers who were present at the death of Christopher Alder. The second, also from the Clerk to Humberside Police Authority, was regarding the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) review of the Christopher Alder case. The third was from the solicitor's for the son of Christopher Alder regarding the Judicial Review of the Home Secretary's decision not to hold a public inquiry.
