Proceeding contribution from Baroness Ashton of Upholland (Labour) in the House of Lords on Monday, 11 July 2005. It occurred during Committee of the Whole House (HL) and Debate on bill on Equality Bill (HL).

Equality Bill [HL]

I am sure the noble Lord is right, as always, on the point of law. On the budget, we have increased that by 40 per cent for the   new commission. It is more important for the commission to behave strategically in the cases it takes rather than see that as being a lack of resources, which was a half-hidden implication of what the noble Lord said.
