Proceeding contribution from Lord Evans of Temple Guiting (Labour) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 19 July 2005. It occurred during Debates on delegated legislation on Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 (Consequential Provisions and Modifications) Order 2005.
Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 (Consequential Provisions and Modifications) Order 2005
There was a plan that the Advocate General should deal with these orders: I was delighted at the idea. Unfortunately, she has to make her maiden speech in the Chamber, not in the Moses Room. I thank the two noble Lords for their welcome of the order. All of the orders were discussed last week in the other place. I have a copy of Hansard, which I will be more than happy to pass to the noble Duke. It is most interesting that absolutely everyone was happy with them. There was no dissenting voice on any of the orders.
