Proceeding contribution from Lord Williams of Elvel (Labour) in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 9 November 2005. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Commons Bill [HL].
Commons Bill [HL]
Amendment No. 150 is very important—it makes an important change to the Bill as originally drafted. It changes ““the agricultural use of”” to,"““agricultural activities, the management of vegetation and the exercise of rights of common on””." Once we get into the management of vegetation, we get in to all kinds of possibilities. Therefore, my noble friend is proposing not merely ““agricultural use”” but also ““agricultural activities””, whatever they may be. It is a very important amendment.
