Proceeding contribution from Lord Chorley (Crossbench) in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 9 November 2005. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Commons Bill [HL].

Commons Bill [HL]

In support of the query raised by the noble Lord, Lord Williams of Elvel, what will be the tax status of a commons association? If it is to dispose of land, there may be a capital gains tax issue. If there is capital gains tax, how will it be divided? One can foresee a variety of issues which will provide a field day for accountants.
