Proceeding contribution from Lord Roberts of Llandudno (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 26 October 2005. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Commissioner for Older People (Wales) Bill [HL].

Commissioner for Older People (Wales) Bill [HL]

I thank the Minister. I would be grateful if he could look again at the power of entry to a private dwelling. We are not thinking about a room in a residential home, but of a private house in which a family would live—or perhaps the carer and an older person. We have heard a number of stories about unfortunate events in that type of situation and I think that it merits further consideration, so that the Bill might be upgraded on Report.
