Proceeding contribution from Lord Prys-Davies (Labour) in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 26 October 2005. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Commissioner for Older People (Wales) Bill [HL].
Commissioner for Older People (Wales) Bill [HL]
I support what my noble friend has said. The Delegated Powers and Regulatory Reform Committee did not consider that this was an inappropriate power to delegate to the Assembly. I agree with the noble Lord, Lord Roberts of Conwy, that it is a significant power, but the Delegated Powers and Regulatory Reform Committee did not draw the attention of the House to it being inappropriate in any way.
