Proceeding contribution from Lord De Mauley (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 8 November 2005. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Consumer Credit Bill.

Consumer Credit Bill

I join the noble Lord’s acknowledgement of the contributions of the various lobby groups. Before going further, I must declare an interest as a director and controlling shareholder of a company that holds a consumer credit licence. Amendments Nos. 1 to 6 were tabled in the name of my honourable friend the Member for Wealden in the other place, and we will be most interested to hear what the Minister has to say, especially on the risk of loss of business overseas, and whether he accepts the amendments.
