Proceeding contribution from Baroness Miller of Hendon (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 8 November 2005. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Consumer Credit Bill.

Consumer Credit Bill

I am not really surprised that the Minister does not think that these amendments are necessary. It always seems to end up that things are not necessary. I sometimes think that they improve things, even if the Minister does not think that they are necessary. In this Committee, we naturally withdraw our amendments. I do not say that I do so with pleasure, but I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment, by leave, withdrawn. [Amendments Nos. 22 to 24 not moved.] Clause 19 agreed to. Clause 20 [Powers of court in relation to unfair relationships]:
