Proceeding contribution from Gerald Howarth (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Monday, 12 December 2005. It occurred during Debate on bill on Armed Forces Bill.
Armed Forces Bill
I am grateful to the Secretary of State, and I am sure that everybody appreciates the assurances with which he is trying to soothe our concerns. However, he has been visiting our forces all around the world, and I have visited a number of them, both in my own constituency and elsewhere. Surely troops have mentioned to him that there is now a real fear that there is a possibility of men being second-guessed in the most difficult circumstances that they can faceāor has he come away with the impression that there are no genuine concerns out there?
