Proceeding contribution from Lord Lyell of Markyate (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 10 January 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill on Road Safety Bill [HL].

Road Safety Bill [HL]

My Lords, would the Minister not agree that the difficulty with the example that he has been careful to give is that you would normally expect the Crown Prosecution Service to charge it as causing death by dangerous driving. He said that the example was at the upper end of careless driving, but it is really an example which has been mischarged.
