Natural Environment and Rural Communities Bill

I thank all noble Lords who have spoken in this debate, especially the noble Viscount, Lord Bridgeman, and the noble Lord, Lord Dixon-Smith, who supported my amendment. It is likely that we will come back to this on Report and discussions between now and then would be helpful. It is not for the board of Natural England to decide on the general purposes of Natural England, though the Minister said that it was for it to decide on the priorities. He is absolutely right for it to decide that. However, it is up to us to decide the general purpose. The general mood of the House is that rural areas should have a particular mention. I hope that he will bear that in mind when he redrafts small bits of the provision. I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment, by leave, withdrawn. [Amendments Nos. 108 to 110 not moved.]
