Proceeding contribution from Baroness Noakes (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Thursday, 26 January 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on National Insurance Contributions Bill.
National Insurance Contributions Bill
I thank the Minister for that reply. We only refer to the Delegated Powers and Regulatory Reform Committee when it suits us, not when we choose to take a slightly different line in amendments. I think that I understand what the Minister said. I am not sure that I fully understand why there needs to be a power to amend any future legislation, because that legislation could make whatever consequential adjustments were necessary.
