Proceeding contribution from Lord Davies of Oldham (Labour) in the House of Lords on Thursday, 2 February 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on London Olympic Games and Paralympic Games Bill.

London Olympic Games and Paralympic Games Bill

I am grateful to the noble Lord who, from his vast experience, has expressed his position very clearly. I recognise that the noble Baroness might regard that as a somewhat unholy alliance. I take on board what the noble Lord, Lord Glentoran, has said and I indicate to the noble Baroness that a substantial body of opinion recognises this to be a very difficult and challenging issue. Therefore, I hope she will not press the matter too far.
