Company Law Reform Bill [HL]

I did not want to interrupt the noble Lord—but, for the avoidance of doubt, yes, I was on the Committee on Standards in Public Life that made the recommendations on party-political funding. We did not advocate wholesale public funding. There was public funding for parliamentary and research purposes, which was expanded as a result of our recommendations, but the noble Lord, Lord Goodhart, and I especially pressed the point about a tax relief for small donations to political parties.
