Proceeding contribution from Lord Laird (Crossbench) in the House of Lords on Thursday, 2 March 2006. It occurred during Debates on delegated legislation on Budget (Northern Ireland) Order 2006.
Budget (Northern Ireland) Order 2006
I am grateful to the Minister for giving way. If the money is only going to be made available for a stadium at the Maze, why did the Government advertise so that 12 different sites applied to be considered? Was that just a wasteful exercise, or were the Government always only going to pay for the Maze proposal, and had any of the other 11 sites been selected, the Government would not have paid?
