Proceeding contribution from Lord Sainsbury of Turville (Labour) in the House of Lords on Thursday, 30 March 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Company Law Reform Bill [HL].
Company Law Reform Bill [HL]
moved Amendment No. A204A:"Page 461, line 21, leave out sub-paragraph (2)." The noble Lord said: In moving Amendment No. A204A, I shall speak also to Amendments Nos. A204B to A204M, A205, A206, A207A to A207P, Clause 752 stand part and A208A. This group amends the clauses and schedules which comprise the ““company communications provisions”” of the Bill. I shall speak further to just one amendment. Amendment No. 208A replaces Clause 753 with a new provision dealing with authentication requirements and provides for situations where the company has not specified the manner in which communications in electronic form must be authenticated. This should address the concerns of noble Lords who have tabled amendments to Clause 753 that we will debate shortly. The other amendments are broadly technical in nature, and I trust that noble Lords will have no objection to them. I beg to move. On Question, amendment agreed to.
