Proceeding contribution from Lord Hodgson of Astley Abbotts (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Thursday, 30 March 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Company Law Reform Bill [HL].

Company Law Reform Bill [HL]

I am most grateful to the Minister. It is nice when a new piece of legislation makes a fresh appearance in our long discussions. We have not come across Section 7 of the Interpretation Act 1978 before, although I am delighted to have my knowledge of statute law broadened still further. We will talk to the Law Society about Section 7 of the Interpretation Act, but it sounds as though the Minister has a perfectly sensible commercial point. I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment, by leave, withdrawn.
