Proceeding contribution from Lord Hodgson of Astley Abbotts (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Thursday, 30 March 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Company Law Reform Bill [HL].
Company Law Reform Bill [HL]
moved Amendment No. A225ZAA: "Page 366, line 2, leave out ““following””" The noble Lord said: In moving Amendment No. A225ZAA I shall speak also to Amendment No. A225ZAB. This clause repeals only certain provisions regarding company directors as set out in Part 10 of the Companies Act 1985, whereas Schedule 15 to the Bill, at line 15 of page 504 of this version, makes it clear that the whole of Part 10 is repealed. This has the potential to be immensely confusing. These amendments would make it clear that Part 10 of the Companies Act 1985 is repealed in its entirety, thus bringing it into conformity with Schedule 15. I beg to move.
