Proceeding contribution from Baroness Howe of Idlicote (Crossbench) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 25 April 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill on Work and Families Bill 2005-06.
Work and Families Bill
My Lords, this is a very ingenious solution to what is clearly a problem, so IĀ support the amendment. The very fact that the onus would be on the individual to make the claim would reduce the burden on the employer. Further, there at least would be a basis on which suspected fraud could be investigated.
