Proceeding contribution from Tony Wright (Labour) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 27 April 2006. It occurred during Adjournment debate on Honours System (Reform).
Honours System (Reform)
: Indeed it is not. A reader of our report will see that we deal quite vigorously with that issue and seek to strip out honours that have been reserved for civil servants. We say quite directly that civil servants should take their place with everybody else in the honours system and that there should not be a separate category.
