Proceeding contribution from Mark Hendrick (Labour) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 27 April 2006. It occurred during Adjournment debate on Honours System (Reform).

Honours System (Reform)

: Will my hon. Friend answer the question that the hon. Member for Wellingborough (Mr. Bone) would not answer? If there were another elected Chamber, what would prevent people from paying to become political candidates in a political party, in order to gain a seat there? If that were stopped, the only valid candidates would be those who did not donate any money to that political party.
