Honours System (Reform)

: On the same point, Michael Foot, Jack Jones and others refused peerages on principle, because they did not believe in a second Chamber. They did not believe in a House of Lords, and they stuck by their belief and demonstrated it by refusing peerages when they could have had them easily.
