Proceeding contribution from Celia Barlow (Labour) in the House of Commons on Friday, 12 May 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill on Climate Change and Sustainable Energy Bill.

Climate Change and SustainableEnergy Bill

As the hon. Gentleman is aware, the Committee—which he chaired until his recent promotion, on which I congratulate him—has done a lot of research on that issue and the evidence suggests that we should put more effort into combined heat and power, especially in new buildings. The regulation in place at the moment amounts to guidelines, and it would have a huge impact if they were to be made compulsory.
